On February 11, 2026, the Academic Lyceum of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a spiritual-educational event titled “Two Great Figures — Two Great Legacies.” The gathering was dedicated to the 585th anniversary of the birth of the "Sultan of Ghazals," Alisher Navoi, and the 543rd anniversary of the king and poet, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.
The event featured prominent guest speakers from the Institute of Uzbek Language, Literature, and Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan: Dr. Yuldosh Rahmatov (DSc, Babur scholar) and Associate Professor Zulayho Raxmanova (Navoi scholar).
During the session, the experts provided a comprehensive analysis of Alisher Navoi’s unparalleled role in the development of the Uzbek literary language, highlighting his rich literary heritage and moral-ethical philosophy. Furthermore, they shared fascinating insights into the multifaceted (serqirra) creativity of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, his activities as a statesman and military commander, and the immense historical and artistic significance of the Baburnama.
As part of the program, students gave expressive recitations of ghazals by Navoi and Babur and presented literary-artistic performances. The meeting was highly interactive, featuring a lively Q&A session that left a profound spiritual impression on the youth.This spiritual-educational event served to further strengthen the students’ sense of respect and reverence for the legacy of our great ancestors, promote national values, and inspire a deeper passion for literature.
