On October 21, 2024, a spiritual and educational event titled "My Mother Tongue - My Pride, My Honor" was held at the Academic Lyceum of the World Economy and Diplomacy University in connection with the 35th anniversary of the granting of state status to the Uzbek language.
At the beginning of the event, it was emphasized that today more than ever, attention to our mother tongue, which embodies our nation's identity and values, has intensified.
The speakers at the event included researchers from the Uzbek Language, Literature, and Folklore Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan: PhD in Philology Zohida Muqimova, Feruza Karimova, and Sitora Barliboeva, an advisor on state language issues to the head of the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment. They discussed the uniqueness of our mother tongue and ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing its prestige and status as a state language.
In their speeches, they underscored that to elevate our mother tongue's reputation on an international level and integrate it into languages that have developed based on national and universal concepts, each one of us must approach our language with profound respect.
At the end of the meeting, students received answers to their questions, and participants who actively engaged in the event were awarded commemorative gifts.
